Every Christian has a personal testimony of how Christ came into their lives and personally saved them. We all have a story. However, we must be careful not to overemphasize our personal experience over our confession of faith in the Gospel. It is equally important to understand what the Gospel message is and what it is not. People need to know more than our personal experience; they need to hear the message of the Gospel which has been passed down generation after generation. But never forget, people need to know more than the doctrine we teach, they need to know that Jesus has revealed Himself to us personally.
It’s not either doctrine or personal experience, our witnessing must emphasize both.
